The St Petersburg and Tampa Bay area Fishing Report for 03-13-2010
Right now after the big rains, the best place to catch the snook of a lifetime is anywhere where fresh water from a lake or a creek or what not is flowing into the saltwater or brackish water. Fro example near overflow culverts from small lakes. These culverts wash small fish into the waiting snook's mouths. some really big snook are caught this way.
The St petersburg area got a lot of rain which helps with the boating situation. Still some really low tides this time of year though so be careful. Right now lots of Sheepshead are still being caught in the st Petersburg area.
The sea trout have been pretty slow because of the cold weather. The red fish just aren't being caught lately, unless I'm just not hearing about it (entirely possible).
